Planting melons with alot of pumpkins?

Watermelons would work, but cantaloupes would probably be overshadowed by taller, more vigorous pumpkin vines. Watermelon plants grow almost as big as pumpkin plants, so they're a better match. Where there are wide gaps, you could try tucking in some cantaloupes for variety, but otherwise, stick with watermelons.
