What is GDI? Is it a good affiliate program? Do they pay on time?

Not very good. They help you to set up a website to sell their products. You make money when someone buys from your website. It could work if they limited the number of sellers to 100 or 1,000. But there are thousands of people all selling the same things online. But you have to keep paying them money even if you don't sell anything.
