Aspen for baby leopard geckos?

You should not put them on ANY loose substrate. They can accidentally eat it and become impacted. Leopard geckos do live in the desert, but not in a sandy desert. Its more of a dry environment with hard packed earth and clay. They do not naturally live in any loose substrates. Paper towels, reptile carpet or tiles are pretty much your only options if you want to be safe.
