That would be alright, I suppose. You could try if for a few weeks and observe the odor, just to see how it works. You could also just spray it down with the hose, and dry it with paper towels without any soap and that would help a little bit. The best thing to do is clean the cage with soap and warm water every time you clean the cage (once a week,) that's what works best. If your schedule is busy or you don't have enough time, that's understandable. Good luck!!![:
